Still flying the flag for football as it should be played 2012–2023
Picture Post: A morning at Lok
THANKS to one Matthias Loffler, a Lokomotive Leipzig fan and co-author of a book telling the story of the club’s 50 years of existence, Game of the People was treated to a tour of an iconic stadium, which includes one of the oldest original wooden grandstands in Europe, if not the world.
Entrance to an East German classic…
The club is affectionately known as “Lok” – pronounced “Lock”
Tributes to the men who made the club.
Scoreboard and on the right, the Stasi hut where the fans were watched closely. The Lives of Others!
Built in 1922…
The long players’ tunnel.
Game of the People will tell the story of a trip to Leipzig later this week.
In the meantime thanks to Matthias, Matt Ford and their friends for making the assignment more interesting!
Game of the People was founded in 2012 and is ranked among the 100 best football websites by various sources. The site consistently wins awards for its work, across a broad range of subjects.
